SterGen’s Live Engine converts a normal 2D sports feed to stereo 3D in a live on-the-fly process. The result is a genuine 3D video reflecting the real scene geometry as extracted from the 2D image. The process is based on image understanding and objects segmentation. Powerful patent pending algorithms are used to analyze and segment the sport scene, apply the proper disparity for each identified object and complete the missing data in the hidden zones.

Each sports blade requires slightly different algorithms due to differences in the geometries and other features associated with the corresponding arenas. The first version released to the market was for Football (soccer). Additional sports software blades dedicated to Tennis, Baseball, Cricket, Rugby and several other sports are being developed on top of the engine.
